I've had a KitchenAid stand mixer for a long time now, and have always been very happy with it. I gave it to one of my aunts as a gift, and so I was in the market to get a new one. During my shopping, I came across the Cuisinart SM-55. This stand mixer is incredible, and with its additional features, I am surprisingly happier with this mixer than my old KitchenAid.

The Cuisinart SM-55 is powerful and it handles the heaviest bread and pizza dough. The dough hook has a "spiral" design, which does a better job kneading dough than the hook I had with my previous KitchenAid. Another popular thing I make often is cheesecake, and the SM-55 churns through cold cream cheese smoothly and easily.
I also like that you control the speeds with a dial control, versus a left-to-right shifter. It's just a little bit simpler to select the speed. This mixer also has a "built-in" splash guard with a large spout to add ingredients while it's mixing. It does a better job keeping your ingredients from splashing out and making a mess; even flour and powdered sugar dust. Lastly the digital timer is also a great feature that puts the SM-55 over-the-top. You can set the timer up to 15 minutes, and the mixer stops when the timer's done, and it beeps to let you know it's done mixing.
There are also a lot of attachments you can get to add more functionality to this mixer. I don't have any of them myself, so I can't comment much on them. But the accessories / attachments available include a blender, meat-grinder, food processor, pasta-maker, and juicer.
